Creating the trusted data capability behind Flexible Exports and the future of distributed energy

As rooftop solar, batteries and other Consumer Energy Resources (CER) continue to grow, the traditional one-way electricity network is becoming increasingly dynamic. 30% of Endeavour Energy customers currently have rooftop solar and this is expected to grow to more than 50% by 2040. To help manage this changing landscape, Endeavour Energy is introducing Flexible Exports - giving eligible customers the opportunity to export more of their surplus solar when network capacity allows. Endeavour Energy partnered with One51 to establish the data foundation required to support Flexible Exports and future network initiatives.

 The Solution: A Scalable Data Foundation for Flexible Exports

One51 worked with Endeavour Energy to bring together, clean and enrich CER and DER data from multiple sources.

The result was a consolidated data model providing a clearer view of customers, connections, devices and their locations. This data enrichment enabled Endeavour to build a high-quality landscape of their customer metadata.

Endeavour Energy originally had an internal CER Register; however, was limited to a legacy design. One51 was able to re-architecture the solution and enrich the data to provide a production ready design by integrating useful source systems into a single source of truth.

Endeavour Energy's data will ultimately be housed within Databricks, providing a scalable foundation for future growth.
